#1 Roskilde
Headliners: Paul McCartney, Muse, Pharrell Williams
Fittingly, Roskilde was Denmark's first ever music festival, setting up and plugging in all the way back in '71. Now, it's one of the biggest festivals across Europe, with an eclectic lineup to rival heavyweights such as Reading & Leeds, Primavera Sound and Sziget. But Roskilde is more than just music, with a variety of other activities to get involved in, none more so than its annual naked run. Win it, and you've bagged a free ticket for next year. But if you don't fancy stripping off, fair enough, dive into walkabout theatre or cool down in the grand-scale water fights. What's more, all Roskilde's profits are donated to charity, resulting in a festival purely dedicated to its audience.
When & where: 27 June - 4 May 2015, Roskilde
