A microcosm of societal potential
Bánkitó Festival is a multi-genre, boutique music festival in Bánk, Hungary. Taking place around the scenic lake Bánki-tó, this festival embodies the summer, using its setting to its full advantage.
Featuring a campground and multiple outdoor and tented stages, the idea is to co-opt the beautiful summer weather and make it another aspect of the festival experience.
With no big sponsorship deals, organisers are free to meticulously curate their lineup as they see fit, bringing the region's performers together while also showcasing the freshest bands from across Europe.
Along with its musical offerings, Bankito holds discussions, screenings, theatre productions and art exhibitions, all aimed at confronting a different social issue every year. This edition is dedicated to corruption and trying to shed light on its poisonous affects on society.
