Despite being arguably the biggest breakthrough techno act of recent times, Charlotte de Witte has actually been part of the electronic music underground for a number of years.

Under her former alias of Raving George she enjoyed impressive levels of success – online, in her native Belgium, and in clubs across Europe. But there's no denying that things have jumped up a level of two since the DJ and producer eschewed the male moniker and launched an assault on the techno scene under her real name.

With Charlotte de Witte increasingly becoming a fixture on lineups across the world, both in clubs and at festivals, it's hard to think of many acts who have garnered such support and respect in such a relatively short space of time; fellow Belgian and good friend Amelie Lens is maybe one, Chicago favourite The Black Madonna another.

But in that time, the purveyor of cavernous, booming techno has established herself as someone more than capable of stepping up to the plate on the biggest stage; whether that's at Awakenings Festival, Time Warp, Sonus Festival, Movement Torino, Dimensions, DGTL or even hosting her own stage at dance music giant Tomorrowland, in her home country.
