There's no two ways about it: Mad Cool is a massive festival. They've reiterated that notion in 2023 by announcing four - yes, four - major headliners per day.
Having previously revealed Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lizzo, Queens of the Stone Age, Liam Gallagher, Robbie Williams, Sam Smith, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Nas X, The Black Keys and The Prodigy as ten of the twelve acts topping the bill, the Madrid festival have now revealed the final two.
Janelle Monáe will bring her dynamic brand of soul, funk, R&B and new-wave to the main stage on Saturday night, with beloved festival stalwarts Mumford & Sons also joining the aforementioned headliners at the summit of Mad Cool.
Alongside the (no longer) mystery headliners, the likes of The Offspring, Primal Scream, Kevin Morby, King Princess and Gen-Z pop icon Ava Max will also be making their way to the Spanish capital, adding to an intriguing roster that spans rock, pop, and indie, with a greater presence of R&B and electronica than previous editions.
They'll be rubbing shoulders with Jamie xx, The 1975, Sigur Rós, Rina Sawayama, Paolo Nutini, Jacob Collier, Years & Years, Tash Sultana, Rüfüs Du Sol, Angel Olsen, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Franz Ferdinand, all of which were unveiled during the festival's first phase announcement at the tail end of 2022.
