Tempelhof Sounds 2022: Brand New Festival Reveals Huge Lineup

There's a brand new festival heading for Berlin, and it's aiming for the skies: Tempelhof Sounds is set for lift-off next summer, as they've revealed the names making the journey to Germany's capital. 

Brit space-rockers Muse will take their Simulation Theory spectacular to Berlin headlining the Saturday night, with NYC's indie icons The Strokes closing the festival on Sunday 12th June.

They'll be joined by an illustrious list of artists spanning rock, indie, and alternative music including Interpol, alt-J, IDLES, Mac DeMarco, London Grammar, Two Door Cinema Club, Wolf Alice, Royal Blood, Fontaines D.C., Big Thief, and Courtney Barnett, with a Friday night headliner yet to be announced. 

Set within the grounds of Tempelhof Airport, previously home to Berlin Festival and Lollapalooza Berlin when it first launched, three of Germany's most celebrated promoters - FKP Scorpio, DreamHaus and Loft Concerts - have banded together with a mission statement to create a new “inclusive and cosmopolitan festival” that upholds "equality, diversity and sustainability”.

Stephan Thanscheidt, CEO of FKP Scorpio said: “We are very pleased to make this special festival format possible in the capital together with our partners. Our guests can expect an event that combines top international acts with an extraordinary open-air experience. Tempelhof Sounds wants to offer ‘programmatic surprises’ and present a diverse line-up.”
