Kendrick Lamar and Paul McCartney have been confirmed as headliners for the 2022 edition of Glastonbury Festival, joining previously headliner Billie Eilish and 'legends slot' performer Diana Ross at the top of the bill for the long-awaited return of the world's most famous music festival.
As well as confirming the three Pyramid Stage closers for the weekend, the first poster reveal has also added more than 80 new names to the lineup for the festival season curtain-raiser, offering up an already predictably packed array of global talent.
There's generation-spanning offerings in all manner of genres, from jazz icon Herbie Hancock to modern torch-bearer Nubya Garcia, West African superstars old and new in Angelique Kidjo and Burna Boy, pop giants from Pet Shop Boys to Lorde, Charli XCX, and Olivia Rodrigo, and contemporary rap royalty in the form of Little Simz, Megan Thee Stallion, Ghetts, Doja Cat and more.
Elsewhere, the likes of The Jesus & Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Black Midi, IDLES, Fontaines D.C., Sleaford Mods, Squid, Wet Leg, and Warmduscher span generations of post-punk, alternative rock, while more indie, folk, and acoustic leanings are represented in plentiful supply by Big Thief, Phoebe Bridgers, Courtney Barnett, First Aid Kit, Mitski and more.
