Ska

Ska originated in Jamaica shortly after World War II's end with an influx of radios in the country. England adopted the genre shortly after its creation in the 1960s, it was especially popular with British mods, with them mixing the jazz, Caribbean, and reggae infused genre with punk - and not too long after, other countries followed suit. Instruments commonly used in ska music include electric guitar, trumpet, piano, bass, and electric organ. Prince Buster, Clement Dodd, and Duke Reid were the pioneers of the genre in the 1950s.

Ska festivals today include the likes of Mission Ready Festival and No Logo Festival.

Artists such as Talco can be seen playing at a number of ska festivals.
