R&B

R&B stands for 'Rhythm and Blues." The genre came into being in the African American community in the 1940s and still, lyrically, most often reflects the black experience in America, specifically underlining the desire for freedom and happiness. Drums, bass, horns, keys, and electric guitar are the instruments that are usually associated with R&B. The genre is also often associated with both jazz and soul music.

R&B festivals include the likes of Wireless, Fresh Island, Lovebox, Afropunk, and Supa Dupa Fly.

Artists such as The Weeknd, SZA and Khalid can be seen playing at a number of RnB festivals.
