American Todd Edwards started producing house and garage tracks and garage music was birthed when British DJ EZ started playing Edwards' tracks at faster tempos in nightclubs in London. Garage music is meant to be a messy blend of all the genres associated with urban music. Speed garage is a very popular subgenre of garage music, which is exactly what it sounds like - garage music with an upped tempo. This was done to appeal to jungle music fans as garage music often shared spaces and events with jungle musicians.

Garage festivals include the likes of MiNT Festival, MADE Festival and Hideout Festival.

Artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Dixon and Jamie Jones can be seen playing at a number of Garage festivals.
