The multiple-genre festival to beat them all

VOLT festival is a multi-genre festival in Sopron Hungary. Getting its title from the pop culture magazine of the same name, the festival has been running since 1993.

As one of Sziget’s sibling festivals, VOLT curates an annual lineup consisting of electronic, rock, pop, jazz and urban genres. Previous lineups have included Slipknot, Slash, The Black Eyed Peas, Depeche Mode, Clean Bandit and Hurts.

In 2022, The Killers, Muse, Bring Me The Horizon, and Sum 41 will all headline, with more names yet to be revealed.

A five-day festival, you can experience fantastic music across several stages, alongside theatre performances, visual art exhibitions, film screenings, sporting events and more.

FAQs

Liszt Ferenc Airport is the major hub in Hungary, but even Vienna airport is close to the town of Sopron.

From Liszt Ferenc, the best option is a 200E bus into the centre of Budapest, then a train from Budapest-Kelenföld station direct to Sopron. Trains depart every three hours and have a journey time of just over 2 hours. The whole trip will cost a little less than €20.

Children are welcome at VOLT, with those aged 11 or under entering for free. Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
