A Portuguese indie idyll
Paredes de Coura Festival is a rock, indie and alternative music festival held in Portugal. Now one of the largest in the country, and with almost 25 years experience in the game, the festival has a reputation as one of Europe's best.
The list of previous performers reads like a who's who of rock and indie, with Sex Pistols, Arcade Fire, Morrissey and last year's headliners LCD Soundsystem among those to grace the stages.
What's more, the festival's location is utterly spectacular, with a site in the idyllic Portuguese countryside surrounded by woodland and dissected by the Coura river, the banks of which become the ultimate relaxation spot across the festival weekend.

FAQs
Porto's Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is the closest international airport to the festival.
Once you have landed, take the subway into the city centre, alighting at Trindade station. Once there, you will need to either walk or take a taxi to Renex bus station, where you can board a bus onto the festival. However, you'll have to book as soon as possible and should send an email to clientes@renex.pt.
Alternatively, you can catch a train from Porto out to Valenca do Minho, where you will need to catch a bus onto Paredes de Coura.
