Summer rock in Portuguese woodland

Paredes de Coura Festival is an annual rock festival held in Portugal. Taking place inside the idyllic Praia do Taboão and its natural amphitheater, the festival beautifully combines sun-drenched riverside relaxation with woodland partying.

With over 20 years experience and having been named one of the best summer festivals in Europe by the Spanish edition of Rolling Stone, the festival has welcomed the likes of the Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire and Queens of the Stone Age over the years.

Away from the music, the winding Coura river runs through the festival site, and has become the place to kick back and cool down, with scores of people constantly playing in its waters and relaxing on its banks.

FAQs

Porto's Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is the closest international airport to the festival.

Once you have landed, take the subway into the city centre, alighting at Trindade station. Once there, you will need to either walk or take a taxi to Renex bus station, where you can board a bus onto the festival. However, you'll have to book as soon as possible and should send an email to clientes@renex.pt.

Alternatively, you can catch a train from Porto out to Valenca do Minho, where you will need to catch a bus onto Paredes de Coura.

There are no age restrictions, therefore anyone can attend the festival. Those under 10 may enter for free, while those 10 or above must purchase a ticket.

From 10 am to 4:30 pm you can access the food area. From 4:30 pm you can only enter with the proper wristband. The festival site closes at 6 am.

It is forbidden to enter the festival site with any type of food or beverages, however, you can bring food and drink into the campsite as long as it isn't in glass bottles.
