North Sea Jazz Festival is one of the most established jazz festivals in the world. Taking place in Rotterdam since 1976, the festival is an institution.
Starting with a bang by welcoming the likes of Miles Davis, Count Basie, and Dizzy Gillespie in its first year, the festival has held a special place in the culture since its inception.
Broadening its horizons over the years, though still very much anchored by jazz, North Sea Jazz Festival annually curates a lineup of creative artists pushing their respective genres forward, with Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Gregory Porter, John Legend and Michael Kiwanuka all performing in 2022, and the legendary Herbie Hancock featuring as the festival's artist in residence.

Rotterdam Ahoy is a massive convention centre complex with theatres and extensive grounds throughout which stages are set up. The festival transforms the centre into an mini metropolis.

BY PLANE:
The nearest airport is Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM). Upon arrival take the 33 bus to Meijersplein Metro (10 minutes). Here transfer to the E metro train and get of at Zuidplein (18 minutes). The venue is a 6 minute walk south from the metro station.
BY TRAIN:
Rotterdam Centraal Station is accessible from most European cities but may require a transfer along the way. Upon arrival take the E or D metro lines and get off at Zuidplein (11 minutes). The venue is a 6 minute walk south from the metro station.
