Keeping Techno Safe

Neopop Festival is a hugely well-loved underground electronic music festival which takes place each summer in Viana do Castelo, Portugal.

Celebrating the finest purveyors of techno music – from genre pioneers and groundbreaking producers to modern day superstars – the four day party explores the best that the scene has to offer, covering DJ sets and live performances over the expansive programming.

The pounding and industrial sounds of the genre are juxtaposed against the beautiful historic setting, a port where the Limia river opens out into the vast expanse of the Atlantic ocean.

BY PLANE: The festival's nearest airport is Porto, which is around a two hour journey away by bus. Firstly, take a bus to Póvoa de Varzim before another onto Viana do Castelo, where you can follow signs to the festival. 

BY TRAIN: Trains run to and via Viana do Castelo from all over Portugal and it is also possible to reach the festival by train from Spain.

BY BUS: Similarly, there are several bus companies such as Avic and Rede Expressos that service Viana do Castelo from cities located to the north and south.
