Ever since 1993, Bergenfest has been giving its audience every genre under the sun - from authentic American blues, folk, country, R&B, hip-hop and electro.

Taking place in the scenic grounds of the historic Bergenhus Fort, Bergenfest provides the perfect backdrop for artists such as Patti Smith and Interpol, while the limited main arena capacity (6,700) assures it'll be an intimate affair that'll stay with you forever.

Bergenhus Fortress, whose history can be traced by to the middle ages, is one of the oldest and best preserved fortresses in Norway, with prominent buildings such as the Håkonshallen and Rosenkrantz Tower dating back to the 1500s.

Bergenfest will take place in the Bergenhus Fortress Park, where the park's lawn will be used as the main venue, while several smaller stages will be placed in the surrounding area.

FAQs

By plan: There are daily international flights to Bergen from London, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Amsterdam. Bergen Airport Flesland is situated approximately 20 minutes from downtown Bergen.

You must be at least 18 to attend the festival alone, however there is also a guardianship scheme in place, whereby anyone under between 15 and 18 must be accompanied by an adult over 23. Guardians can be responsible for up to two people.
