Sziget's electronic sibling
Balaton Sound is an electronic music festival in Hungary. Taking place on the shores of Lake Balaton, the largest in Central Europe, the festival manages to create a beach party vibe 200 miles from the sea.
Now over 10 years old, the festival has consistently offered its enormous fanbase the chance to see some of the biggest and best names in dance music; with previous headline sets from the likes of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tiësto, David Guetta and Calvin Harris as well as appearances from underground heroes like Dixon, Seth Troxler and Ricardo Villalobos.
Add touches of urban and hip-hop, a 'seaside' set-up for swimming, sunbathing and relaxation and you're left with the perfect beach-party festival.

Taking place by the largest lake in Central Europe, the banks of Lake Balaton will host numerous colourful stages, bars and restaurants with unique personalities, beaches, terraces, a ship to rave on amongst many other party or chill spots.

FAQs
Budapest is the closest airport to Lake Balaton. The best way to the festival site is by train, which will take about 3 hours. Take a train from the airport to Budapest Deli and then on to Zamárdi Felso station. The festival site is right next door.
Children under the age of 11 can enter the festival for free, while those under the age of 14 may enter and camp at the festival, but only with an adult.
