The UK's summer festival season has come to a close, and the rumour mill is already churning out potential lineups for 2023 as expected. But a 'leaked' poster has revealed the possible headliners for Reading and Leeds Festivals next August Bank Holiday.
Almost immediately after the 2022 editions finished, Melvin Benn – managing director of Festival Republic who oversees the sibling festivals – confirmed that three of the headliners for the upcoming event were already booked.
"Three are booked and one is pretty close to finishing" he said. "There’s the current usual back and forth about how many pounds or dollars they should get and that sort of stuff. In theory, we’ve nearly got four done but we’re not quite done with the fourth.”
And if the poster making the rounds on social media is to be believed, it appears that Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, Muse, Sam Fender, Doja Cat, and Skepta will all be headlining the historic festivals come August.
By all means, 'leaked' festival posters are nothing new – and they're more often than not entirely fake, forged by over enthusiast festival fans on laptops in their bedrooms – but this assembly of artists isn't exactly outside the realms of possibility given their target audience and the festival's newfound diversity.
That said, we'll stress this is in no way an official confirmation of Reading and Leeds' lineups for next year. But, you never know? Judge for yourselves from the poster below.
