    Rock, Pop, Dance and Arts - Winner of the Best European Major Festival Award

    Winner of The Best European Major Festival 2011, Sziget is many festivals in one, a week long non-stop event with approx. 60 program venues and around 200 programs daily. The festival attracts almost 400 000 fans from over 70 countries to a beautiful island in the heart of Budapest.

    Performing bands range from the biggest names of the international pop/rock scene to stars of world and electronic music, but you will also find metal, folk, jazz, blues, alternative and even classical tunes, while you are wondering around the huge festival area.

    The official payment device of Sziget Festivals in 2013 is the MasterCard® PayPass™ and Maestro® PayPass™ card, all other PayPass-devices and the Metapay Festivalcard.

    OTP Maestro PayPass Festivacard

    The bank of Sziget Festivals OTP Bank issues unique festival-designed OTP Maestro® PayPass™ Festivalcards with your name, linked to your bank account. So you do not yet have an OTP Maestro PayPass Festivalcard? You should definitely get one, as you get to enter the festival without having to wait.

    MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass card

    Of course, you can use all MasterCard PayPass or Maestro PayPass cards or any other PayPass-devices (watch, sticker, mini card) at all Sziget-events.

    Metapay Festivalcard

    Besides MasterCard PayPass and Maestro PayPass cards, you can also use the chargeable Metapay Festivalcards available at the venue.

    At the event you can only pay by your Metapay Festivalcard or a PayPass-card issued by any bank. Merchants DO NOT accept cash. The last points where you can still buy anything for cash are the ticket sales points at the entrance.

    Metapay Festivalcard is the official, cashless payment device of Sziget Cultural Management, exclusively used on all festivals organized by the company.

    You can pay for all products at the festival (anything you buy from merchants, pubs, restaurants within the festival area) with a Metapay Festivalcard or a PayPass card issued by any bank.

    Metapay Festivalcards are valid at all summer festivals organized by Sziget Cultural Management. Please note that the balance of the card cannot be transferred from one festival to the other, however, you can recharge the same card to use it again.

    Every visitor gets a card with a balance of 0 HUF. You do not have to pay for your first card and it is activated after charging money on it for the first time, or by registration.

    In order to use the card safely, you are encouraged to register it. This is not compulsory, but please note that only previously registered cards can be blocked (in case you lose the card) and you can only transfer your balance from one registered card to another.

    This year the festival starts on 5th of August (day -1). The wristband is non-transferable and we cannot change or replace damaged or lost wristbands.

    On Sunday (4th of August) you can only enter the festival site with a "Moving in" Ticket (can be bought only on spot). On Monday (5th of August) you can enter with a Weekly Pass (with camping) or a special daily ticket valid for the - 1. day (5th of August).

    Entering the festival area during the weekend preceding the event is at your own risk, as construction works are still being carried out. Please note, that you cannot enter the festival venue by car on the festival days and 1 week prior to the event.

    The festival winds up at 8am, 12th of August, as deconstruction works start this time. We will ask everyone to leave the festival area by 8am.

    Yes, you can take photos at the festival as a non-professional photographer, however you can take photos of live acts and other performances if you have written permission from the organizers. If you are a professional photographer, you can apply for press accreditation

    We provide specially adapted hygienic toilets and showers for disabled people and created a viewing ramp in front of the main stage from which a better vantage point and more enjoyment of the concerts is guaranteed.

    There is a 24 hour emergency service and medical staff on duty in four places. Apart from the health centre you can also find a pharmacy on the festival grounds. We would like to ask you to take care of yourselves and each other. We recommend you to refresh yourselves with lots of alcohol-free drinks, apply suntan lotion to yourselves liberally and wear caps. In case you feel unwell, please approach the medical staff

    If you need help or any kind of information, speak to our staff in the Sziget Info Points (marked on the map). They are ready to help you 24 hours a day.

    We collect lost property at the information desk, so if you find something please bring it there. You can also try to find your missing items at the same place. Lost property items will be kept until 15th September.

    No, it is strictly prohibited! Outdoor cooking equipments - such as butane/propane gas mix cartridges, barbecue & grill equipments etc. cannot be used on the site, and can be taken away by the security service upon entry.

    Glass objects, striking and cutting devices, umbrellas or any other objects endangering others’ physical health are FORBIDDEN to be brought into the area of the Event! According to valid laws, you are not allowed to carry objects specifically endangering public safety (knives with a blade longer than 8 cm, switch knives, gas sprays, black jacks etc.), and you are not allowed to make fire within the territory of the event, it is considered to be a criminal offense.

    There are several ATMs on the festival site, however you can only pay by MasterCard® PayPass™ or Maestro® PayPass™ card at the commercial units, stalls and catering outlets on the site of the festival. If you don't have one of them, you can pay pay by Festivalcard on the festival site.

    There will be exchange booths for so you can quickly and easily obtain Hungarian Forints.

    Yes, there is. The Internet Tent has 80 computers and wi-fi, which can be used for free.

    Yes, there are plenty of food stalls where you can find vegetarian food

    You can leave your luggage and any other items secure at the left luggage and safe deposit facilities which are marked on the map. We kindly ask you not to leave anything valuable in your tent. The bicycle shed at the festival is free of charge and is located at the usual place by the tennis court near the Caravan Camping site. You can also have minor repairs carried out on your bike if they are necessary or you would really like to have them done.
