Little Simz
One of the most respected UK rappers of her generation, Little Simz has packed a lot in for someone still in their mid-twenties.
Never an artist that has lacked ambition, her first two full-length projects – A Curious Tale of Trials and Persons and Stillness In Wonderland – released just after turning 20 took the form of concept albums, experimenting with grand ideas and literary themes.
And with her third offering – GREY Area – Simbi arguably reached her full potential, with a much more personal, honest and introspective record than those before, earning her critical acclaim and a huge amount of respected from fans and other artists alike.
Namechecked by the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Kano, heavily praised by Damon Albarn as a support act and collaborator for Gorillaz, and as one of the stars of the latest incarnation of hit TV-show Top Boy, Little Simz has come along way from the early potential shown as a teenager releasing mixtapes on SoundCloud.
And what's more, that progression has also manifested itself in her live performances, with captivating tour shows and festival appearances across the globe – from Glastonbury, to Primavera Sound, to Coachella.
