Florence + the Machine

One of the earliest success stories of the BBC Music Introducing platform, which was created to support unsigned and undiscovered UK musical talent, Florence + the Machine have gone from unknown indie duo to global megastars in just over a decade.

Tracks like ‘Dog Days Are Over’, ‘You’ve Got The Love’, ‘Spectrum (Say My Name)’ and ‘Shop To Wreck’ have earned the band chart hits across the globe, while awards and critical acclaim have also come throughout the last decade – from Mercury Prize nominations in 2009 and 2015 to multiple BRIT Award wins, and several GRAMMY nominations.

In the live arena, arguably the highlight of the band’s story so far came when Foo Fighters were forced to pull out of their Glastonbury headline set, following an injury to frontman Dave Grohl. Florence + the Machine and their talismanic vocalist Florence Welch were given the opportunity to prove themselves as festival headliners on the biggest stage.

And after that blisteringly energetic performance at Worthy Farm there has been no shortage of festivals enlisting their services each summer - Sziget, Rock Werchter, Bilbao BBK Live, Roskilde, Governor’s Ball and Bestival to name just a few.
