Music Festivals in Iceland

With Björk and the folk group Of Monsters and Men hailing from Iceland, along with many other experimental artists, Iceland is a great place to seek out festivals. Traditional Icelandic folk music is also still sung today - the music that was mainly written during Iceland's isolation from other countries in the 18th century has its own rhythm known as hákveôa. 

Icelandic festivals include the likes of Reykjavík Arts Festival, Iceland Airwaves, Secret Solstice and Sonar Reykjavík.

Artists such as The Five Live Lo Fi, Caribou, Major Lazer can be seen playing at a number of Icelandic festivals.
