Chicago is renowned for its music festival scene, being the origin city to festivals such as Lollapalooza and Pitchfork. 

Historically, Chicago was a major catalyst to the blues, jazz, soul, gospel, and rock and roll genres. Artists such as Nat King Cole, Muddy Waters, Patti Smith, and Thomas A.
