Pet Shop Boys
The Pet Shop Boys were formed in London in 1981 and consists of singer Neil Tennant and keyboardist Chris Lowe. The synth pop duo have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and are the most successful duo in UK music history. They have also won three Brit Awards and have been nominated for the Grammys six times. Their Brit Award in 2009 was for Outstanding Contribution to Music. They are famed for their many hit singles such as “It’s a Sin”, “Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money)”, “Heart”, “West End Girls”, “Love Comes Quickly”, “What Have I Done to Deserve This?” (featuring vocals from Dusty Springfield) and “Suburbia”. The duo have also released the successful covers “Go West” (Village People) and “Always on My Mind” (made famous by Elvis Presley and becoming a Christmas number one for the Pet Shop Boys). The Pet Shop Boys have played a number of festivals including FIB: Festival Internacional de Benicassim, SZIN: Szegedi Ifjúsági Napok, Tinderbox and Cruïlla Barcelona.
