Catfish and the Bottlemen
Catfish and the Bottlemen have played a number of festivals including Glasgow Summer Sessions, Glastonbury and Kendal Calling. After seven years of switching band members and playing outside gigs, Catfish and the Bottlemen were finally up and running, with members Van McCan, Benji Blakeway, Bob Hall, Johnny Bond releasing their first studio album The Balcony in 2014.
The Welsh based four-piece then quickly signed to Island Records that same year and released the single 'Kathleen', which ranked number one on MTV’s hottest tracks in April 2014. The band also won the BBC Introducing Award that same year. During the months that followed the band spent the summer touring festivals around the UK and Europe, including Reading and Leeds, Latitude, T in the Park, Y Not Festival and more.
The Balcony reached platinum sales in 2016 just a six months after the release of their second album The Ride, earning the band a BRIT Award for British Breakthrough Act, along with an abundance of nominations.
Their eagerly anticipated 2019 album The Balance along with tour announcements come following a triumphant summer for Catfish and the Bottlemen, which saw them perform headline slots across major UK festivals and breaking new ground internationally appearing at festivals in France, Spain, Italy and The US.
Catfish and the Bottlemen have perfected the verse-chorus-verse classic indie sound and prove you can still fill areas and headline festivals by sticking to the script and producing another solid indie rock album. "I feel like everybody started thinking too outside the box, trying to be arty and different. We wanted to stay inside the box." (Van McCan, 2016)
